I don't know if the students were more excited to see their student Ms. Hawes again or receive letters and art back from her students in Costa Rica. How amazing that she was able to teach the same lesson in North Carolina and Costa Rica! The collographs she brought back are beautiful and the students letters so dear. Pictures tell more than my words today!
And... I just scored an old school map of Africa from my friend Ms. McFarland! I dedicate that to my 6th and 7th Grade Social Studies teacher, Mr. Preshia. He passed away this year too soon, but left a huge love for maps and passion for learning the world infused in my mind and heart. The blank map tests were terribly scary having to stand in front of the room with the pointer, but they have ended up being helpful!
