There is so much to say... and the best way to say it is we are all human and share the same spirit. We can never forget that being human is what unites us!
I met my first Kenyan friend, Jim, on the flight from Amsterdam to Nairobi.
- Jim grew up in Mombassa and he and his wife and two sons live there now. Jim was traveling back from Charleston, SC! He works for customs in Kenya and was getting training in the US. What a gift to have him discuss my trip with me. He let me borrow his phone to make sure I would have a ride at the airport. I contacted Serah and she told me her brother would be my driver for the week and would be waiting for me at the airport. We just missed Serah and Ronnie's third son's 2nd birthday celebration, but I got to meet lots of people at their home before they headed out. One little minor scare were all the lights going out in the airport before I had been through customs. The second was coming out of the airport to what appeared to be a protest, but it was the drivers for all the tourists!
